After fashion show

Mi imbarazza un pò pubblicare questa foto della sfilata al Job & Orienta di Verona, ma è il poco che vi posso offrire in attesa delle fotografie ufficiali. Ad ogni modo, l'evento è stato un successo per quel che mi riguarda. Avere la conferma che il proprio lavoro viene apprezzato, mi fa pensare che tutto questo valga la pena di continuare. 

Nel frattempo ho sviluppato una vera e propria ossessione per i capi che mi ricordano i volumi degli anni '50.

I'm embarrassed to publish this fashion show’s photo at the Job & Orienta of Verona, but  I can offer only this picture waiting for the official photographs. However, the event was a success! Confirm that your work is appreciated, it makes me think that all this is worth continuing.

In the meantime, I have developed an obsession for clothes that remind me the volumes of the 50s.

Non sono adorabili? La cosa migliore è che un taglio del genere sta bene anche a chi, come la maggior parte delle donne, non ha fianchi da modella.

Il fashion show al Job & Orienta: si avvicina quanto il mio pensiero di darmela a gambe. Ma almeno voi potete partecipare con serenità sabato 24 novembre presso la fiera di Verona dalle ore 11.30! L'ingresso è gratuito!

Intanto una carrellata di cose a cui mi dedico quando non lavoro alla realizzazione dei miei capi (di notte si trovano moooolte cose interessanti).

Street Fashion at Milan Fashion Week

La settimana della moda ha una particolarità non trascurabile: tutti farebbero di tutto per farsi fotografare da chiunque. Penso che molti aprano il proprio armadio e senza pensare alle conseguenze scelgano le cose da indossare più appariscenti e stravaganti. Penso che qualcuno di loro venderebbe una rene pur di apparire su qualche sito o in qualche blog.

Il fatto ancora più curioso è che, una volta riusciti nell’impresa, non sfoderino un sorriso raggiante, ma facciano i tristi, forse per simulare un che di intellettuale o un “ho cose più importanti che farmi fotografare per strada”.

Evidentemente la moda proibisce il cibo (preferirei vedere delle donne reali in passerella, ma mi rendo conto che è utopia) e pure il sorriso.

Fashion Week has a peculiarity considerable: all would do anything to be photographed by anyone. I think  that many people open theri own closet and without thinking about the consequences they choose to wear things more flashy and extravagant. I think some of them would sell a kidney just to appear on some website or some blog.

The fact even more curious is that, once successful in the workplace, not display a beaming smile, but do the sad, perhaps to simulate something intellectual or "I have more important things to be photographed in the street."

Evidently the fashion prohibits food (I'd prefer to see some real women on the catwalk, but I realize that is wishful thinking) and even a smile.

Hyperculture hyiperstressed

Non  sono sparita per le passerelle milanesi come a quanto sembra fanno in molti (o in molte bloggers).

A quanto pare, per il mio corso di studi, devo realizzare 5 capi per una sfilata. E fin qui è tutto regolare. O due mesi, penso: non è moltissimo tempo, ma ce la posso fare.

Ho già delle idee carine in testa, penso. Sbagliato.

Già mi immaginavo il mio cappottino bon ton, magari un bel Valentino visto tempo fa…

I have not gone to the catwalks of Milan as it seems many do (or many bloggers).

Apparently, for my course, I have to make 5 pieces for a fashion show. So far, so good. I have two months, I think, is not a very long time, but I can do it.

I have some nice ideas in my head, I think. Wrong.

I already imagined my bon ton coat, maybe a nice Valentino saw long ago ...

Invece ora mi hanno dato un tema da seguire.Cioè, io dovrei inventarmi da zero tutto e disegnare i figurini di ciò che andrò a confezionare. Sembra eccitante come idea se non si tiene in considerazione che io non sono una Fashion Designer, ma una sarta. Posso anche applicare la mia personale esperienza o il mio buon gusto, ma si distanzia anni luce dal disegno della figura di moda o dalla teoria dei colori che uno stilista mastica quotidianamente.

Il tema poi non è una passeggiata: Hyperculture. Più ci penso e più mi sembra che sia una di quelle parole che vuol dire tutto e niente.

Per ora navigo in mezzo a immagini come questa:

But now they gave me a theme to follow.I mean, I should invent everything and draw sketches of what I am going to tailor. Sounds exciting as an idea if you don’t take account that I'm not a fashion designer, but a seamstress. I can apply my experience or my taste, but diverges light years from the drawing of the figure of fashion or color theory that a stylist masticates daily.

The issue then is not simple: Hyperculture. The more I think about, the more it seems to be one of those words that means everything and nothing.
